Reflections on my Digital year in here :)

I have very much enjoyed this class, and had a lot of fun working with photos and doing things like claymation. I especially enjoyed adding the sound effects to slideshows, and our claymation movie. I have learned to be patient with some of the new programs, and this year I realized all of the detail and time and hard work that is put into media. Photoshop is more professional then I ever realized. I loved the photography portion of the course, in which we had to take pictures for assignments. Thanks to Mrs.Adema, I am enlightened when it comes to Computer apps, and her awesome teaching skills are much appreciated. :)

Should we be held accountable for what we say online?

I do not think it is in any way necessary to punish people for saying things online unless they are hackers, or make some sort of life altering threat. If people argue on myspace, facebook, or twitter, it is usually pointless, mindless arguing. It is the same thing as people arguing over the telephone, or getting into it over something as simple as a person skipping you in line. I have said it before this blog and will say it again, IT IS JUST MYSPACE. It's not like some one is knocking on your door and threatening you or stalking you. Although like I mentioned if they are truly threatening you than they probably should be held accountable for their words.

laptops an ecological problem?

I have to agree, the unproper disposal of laptops does seem to be a problem for the environment, but as technology expands, we can stop the problem and properly recycle them.
Since they land in landfills, people can just upgrade their computers to make them just as significant as the new laptops, instead of simply throwing them away. Considering the laptop plastic is filled with petroleum, as we speak computer companys are testing a new caster-oil plastic which is 80 percent bio content. The fact that laptops guzzle to much power from the grid is now becoming a thing of the past. There are already portable solar chargers suited for laptops. We simply need to work with our environment, if we continue to do this, it should work with us.

my thoughts on internet slang and english.

Internet slang ruining our language? Most definitely not. It is indeed making some people less aware of actual grammar, but this is why people go to school. If someone can not realize the difference between text/internet slang and real english, then it is a sad world we have brought ourselves into living in, and we should really consider upping our education system before china and japan take over.

Picture modification can be good, or it could be bad. The good terms of picture modification are, pictures can be edited to look good enough to be presented. This way, if anyone is in need of a nice business card or birthday invitation, they can fix what they don't like. Also, in obscene picture's you can modify out the obsceneties. On the other hand editing pictures can be bad because it can make women look so beautiful that it's fake. Young girls see these photos in magazines, and their perception of real beauty goes wrong. They beat themselves up mentally to try and reach the pedestal that models are put up on, when in reality they are normal people too. Another bad thing about picture modification is you can do practically anything to a digital photo, and people can use that as a sort of blackmail against anyone.
